Shorn of its later additions, this picturesque stone house stands as a solitary witness to the last 200 years of our history. We believe that it was built around 1806 when the Ellicott’s iron rolling and slitting mill was constructed just below the hillside on which the house sits. Log joists support the house and can be seen by opening an outside hatch and walking down stone steps to the full basement. The outline of a previous addition can readily be discerned on the ground. From these sites will rise a new addition that will extend westward over new ground.
There is a handsome cooking Fireplace of stone and brick now exposed on the north face of the building that will become part of the new Kitchen. A Two-car Garage, Entrance hall, Great Room and Master Bedroom will occupy much of the new addition. The whole complex will feature three Bedrooms, three Baths, Powder Room, Laundry Room, Den, Bonus Room, Dining Room, upscale amenities, Decks, and close-in views of the Patapsco River and surrounding Patapsco Valley.
Anticipated completion date: winter of 2008-2009. Price to be determined.
